I wonder, did you guys have to pay for it since she didn’t return it? Do you get a lock screen when you start it up? Chromebooks are managed by the school and you can’t do anything with it unless it’s been deprovisioned.
Try this- start it up, then hold down esc-refresh-power. It’ll reboot into a splash screen. Press ctrl-d. It’ll restart again, hit spacebar. Then it will be reset.
Your pc won’t boot with copy-paste. You have to clone it.
It sounds like it’s toast, sorry.

Try changing your router wifi frequency band to 2.4
I used FreeNas for mine. It was straightforward, but the permissions were a little tricky. I’m not sure how you’d go about excluding wifi clients.
Ohhh. Make your isp run the cable. Actually every time they run a new account you should get new coax.
Both of you should connect to your wifi at home.
Is it a chromebook?
I have an old cable running through my basement that only gives me 100. I bought a new 50’ cable but it won’t go through the holes lol. Been too lazy to re-drill
Probably a dated cable.
That sounds like corrosion from liquid. You can clean it up with alcohol and a toothbrush or some other little brushing tool. Maybe qtips
Malware maybe. Viral probably not.
Isn’t 2 beeps usually a bios prompt? It certainly could be a kbd/mouse issue, or a dead cmos battery
