Yesterday I was watching youtube, and when trying to move my mouse, I noticed that it seemed to have frozen. Just a few seconds later my whole PC turned black, I heard 2 short beeps in my headphones, and the PC turned on again, but this time there was no desktop, just chrome on my main monitor exactly how it was before. When trying to minimize the window, it got all freaky and everything glitched. I shut it off and went to bed.

I just started my PC today, and it showed me a blue screen of death saying something along the lines of “something is wrong, we’re gathering information about the error” and when it reached 100%, everything turned back to normal.

Now what’s concerning me is the 2 beeps of my motherboard. I looked up beep codes for AMI BIOS, and 2 short beeps means there’s a parity error. I didn’t mess with my setup at all recently, apart from my keyboard. The only issue I ever had with RAM in this PC was when I tried installing another 2 Sticks with each 8GB, and had to flash my BIOS first. No isses after, except for yesterday.

Is it possible that this was a one time thing, or could there be something wrong with my RAM or Motherboard even though Windows seems to be working normal again?

Isn’t 2 beeps usually a bios prompt? It certainly could be a kbd/mouse issue, or a dead cmos battery
