My 1 year old MSI gaming laptop overheats and shuts down very easily when playing any type of game, even when the graphics are the lowest they will go. The only thing i can see is maybe the cooling fan needs to be replaced or the glue needing to be replaced. Im bringing it to best buy tomorrow to see about maybe getting a storage upgrade and ill talk to them then but is there anything else i can do? It doesnt overheat when i play roblox or minecraft of max graphics but it overheats on Sims 4 with the lowest graphics. Not even mentioning steam games.

Currently the only thing that helps with overheating is having my cooling fan plugged in and a small table fan blowing on my laptop. Im also going to look into buying a laptop stand so it will be on a flat surface.

I really hope i didnt do anything bad to it and i need to replace it. someone said that one time before i hadnt even had it for a year.

Well, you can’t run a gaming laptop on your bed, if that’s what you’re doing. I keep my intake exhaust and fans clean, and I put rubber feet on the bottom to raise it up a quarter of an inch.
