There’s some weird blue stuff coming from my USB C charging cable. I’d attach a picture but I can’t. The cable works perfectly but I don’t know if it’s safe to use. Any advice? Maybe I’ll drop the link to the pic if you want to
That sounds like corrosion from liquid. You can clean it up with alcohol and a toothbrush or some other little brushing tool. Maybe qtips
Oh, now that I think about it I had a couple of cold soda cans in my bag with my external battery. Maybe the condensation got on the cable
You can upload pictures to imgur.
What kind of cable is this anyways?
Do you have any animals who like to chew on cables?
I have a dog but she never chewed any of my cables. It’s an original Xiaomi cable. I’ve had it for the past 3 years. It works perfectly, but this concerns me.
Definity corrosion. Some moisture got in there and caused that. I can’t see a way to actually clean that without destroying the cable so I’d say get a new cable or just run that one until it stops working. It’s really not dangerous but the corrosion could possibly cause a short killing whatever device is plugged in.
