- the drive is probably failing and the disk operation cannot be completed
- you need a USB stick with explicit hardware support for what you want
- why it drains more power without any benefits in clock speeds - Different workloads will use different parts of the CPU. Different parts of the CPU use different amount of power.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- obviously 4 sticks can work on a motherboard with 4 slots
- what’s the error message
- In theory any stick should work (at the lowest speed out of all sticks). In practice it’s finnicky and depends on the memory controller/motherboard/BIOS. No way to know other than try.
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- I tried repairing - did you run chkdsk by chance… - I was getting a disk error - this might signify a hardware issue and the disk might not be usable anymore
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- ok, I scouted your previous messages and there’s more important information in this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/17x0sz4/hwinfo_shows_virtual_memory_maxed_out_when_gaming/ - Show a screenshot of the first 2 tabs in https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/rammap when you’re encountering the situation described in the thread I linked above
- even if it was working properly it would be pretty fucking bad for $2000 - If updating drivers doesn’t help this is a hardware issue. Don’t bother reinstalling windows. Return it (really, should have done it on day 1).
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- https://www.mdisc.com/faq.html - Can I add additional files to an M-DISC™ after it has been burned?
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- I’m having someone ‘scream’ at me for not doing a fresh OS install, and I’m transferring malware from one drive to another, and registry errors, etc, etc, and a cloned drive ‘won’t run at optimal speeds’. - Windows is pretty bad with handling CPU changes, and it can cause performance issues, but that’s about it. What they told you is wild and sounds like a projection of incompetency to me.
- Since you still hear correct audio in the background when this happens it’s unlikely to be an issue with your RAM. I’d suspect the GPU or the GPU drivers. - Does it only happen when your GPU is under load?
- I’m not sure I follow. - You recovered some files with testdisk and these files were marked as malicious? What did you actually recover?
- With hard drive you need to do multiple pass - if I see this myth one more time…
- Deleting a parition in windows doesn’t trigger TRIM. Best you can do is secure erase, if available. Otherwise you zero-fill. - but after looking into it, it seems that SSD’s cannot be cleaned in the same way - what makes you think so?
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- Provide exact models of these switches. - It’s also possible that the long cable can’t handle Gb speeds
1·2 years ago 1·2 years ago- This might be indicative of motherboard damage caused by the old PSU. It could also be an issue with the new PSU itself.
It supports 240hz native refresh rate. Changing settings allows 280hz, which appears to be “real” 280hz, possibly just resulting in lower image quality/color accuracy. There is no interpolation of any kind to produce frames. See https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/asus/vg279qm
