I’m sorry but I felt like posting this even though Im not sure if Im completely anonymous. There was a person who somehow stalked all of my online profiles, especially the ones which I create on my phone for the longest time. I have no advanced knowledge in hacking but I know he surely has my phone number and I’ve seen suspicious log ins in my accounts, the google play account especially.
After I already did a factory reset and it didn’t seem to change the story at all (he kept on coming back and commenting on my facebook posts from numerous fake profiles) I decided to uninstall all possible bloatware on my phone using ashell app. I removed samsung cloud as well as a suspicious app called “FactoryAPP” which still makes me wonder if its an official app or maybe not. I also need to mention I needed to reset my windows 10 pc some time ago because I found hacktools installed.
Now the thing which bothers me the most is that this psycho guy (whom I probably met before) may still be there stalking me without me being capable to find out. I hate to think that each time I post I need to be careful and just think twice before sharing personal stuff because he may be gossiping behind my back. I feel pissed and I can’t do anything about it.
Well, I see there’s beef on the comments, idc, stay safe and I hope you can get rid of that guy, and if something happens, go to the police
So, umm, this sub is just like years ago when I worked help desk. 99% of the problems are keyboard chair interface errors.
PICNIC
Problem In Chair, Not in Computer.
Lol. The old ID 10T error
Someone finding you online doesn’t mean you’re being hacked.
They could notice your name, be following your friends to get back to you.
People need to stop believing what hacking looks like on TV shows lmao
OP, understand that this is not personal, I don’t know you and I ultimately don’t care about you Check for carbon monoxide poisoning, if you don’t have a detector, get one, they’re useful regardless if that’s the case now or not. And DO check for mental health, psychosis and schizophrenia can affect people much younger than you’d think. And remember, mental health diseases are diseases, they are not you.
If those above are not the case go learn how to use the internet.
Nothing in the post mentions changing logins and passwords. If someone actually hacked you, he already has all your passwords. To factory reset a phone also requires to format the memory cards.
Posting on your Facebook posts doesn’t require anyone to hack you. The most likely thing is you posting something stupid and people telling you it is stupid. Hard to tell with you telling nothing about it.
I’ve seen suspicious log ins in my accounts, the google play account especially
It happens a lot that logins leak in a data breach, doesn’t mean someone is stalking you.
Have you set your social media profiles for friends only or private?
You should be able to change it so only people you know can view your profile and comment on pictures. Its pretty easy these days to track someone by name or even phone number on social media. Making your accounts private or even viewable by friends of friends harder.
(he kept on coming back and commenting on my facebook posts from numerous fake profiles
I don’t think someone commenting on photos is hacking into your account that makes zero sense. The only reason to hack into someones account is gain access to photos or use it like randsomware and demand money for the return of your profile back. As mentioned above change your security settings and only allow friends or keep your profile private.
I would as i said go through all your profiles and set every single setting to private and DO NOT add any or allow followers from people you do not know.
“I have no advanced knowledge in hacking”…subreddit shares opinions…“you guys are all wrong”
So let me just say this since you’re clearly not actually too open to suggestions.
If it seems this person is following your online presence, and all these accounts are following you around, how do you know it is a single person making multiple accounts? If your information was part of a leak, there could be multiple people with your email address capable of sending phishing emails.
You know the ‘suspicious login’ email itself could be faked to appear real so you click on a link contained in it leading you to, oh idk, type your login information and give it directly to the person, right?
You have a Facebook email or id people can search for you with see if you can change that and your name on Facebook. It may not be a virus but just some creep. Change your privacy setting on Facebook to not allow people who are not friends to see anything on your profile like posts or even commenting or maybe even make a new Facebook with a different name it sucks but not really much you can do other than that. If it follows to other platforms it may be that your email could’ve been compromised just make sure you have 2 factor authentication on everything and you should be fine. You’d be surprised people post exs and stuff in places like 4chan where 100s of creeps could have your Facebook id and there’s not much you can do at that point but make a new Facebook. Even at that point if someone wants your info and is a good hacker they will have it just be careful of what you download and give permissions to on your phone and pc maybe even do a reset on your pc and install a good antivirus. But if all your getting is comments and your not locked out of your email or any other accounts it sounds like it’s just some creeper.
You’re not fucking hacked, you don’t need to be hacked for someone to make a new Facebook.
he kept on coming back and commenting on my facebook posts from numerous fake profiles
So this guy hacked you just to comment on your Facebook and log into your Google Play account. Very believable story.
I hate to think that each time I post I need to be careful and just think twice before sharing personal stuff because he may be gossiping behind my back.
Look up schizophrenia and visit a specialist to make sure you don’t have it.
Suggesting schizophrenia as the answer is jumping the gun.
I find it very believable that someone would stalk that obsessively, especially if OP is female. It’s easy to become paranoid about a stalker finding your new account without mental illness being involved. Not to mention, OP isn’t explaining their situation very well, so it may seem far more confusing than it actually is.
First things first. If you’re worried that your online accounts may be compromised, make sure you do a password reset and enable 2FA. This will prevent future unauthorized logins. Make sure you are using a password that is difficult to figure out. Not your cats’ name and birthyear for example.
The stalking part of your issue is a bit more complex. Depending on the online platform you’re using, you can usually limit access to your posts. For example, Facebook has settings that limit the posts to friends, friends of friends, specific people or everyone. Make sure you check these settings if you don’t want anyone viewing personal details about you. Better still, don’t post anything too personal at all.
Being hacked usually means that you’ve not been careful online. It can be a suspicious link, an email attachment or a post somewhere that is a bit too personal. 99% of “hacks” that occur are done by social engineering (exploiting the human factor).
Your phone and pc are probably fine. Just make sure you are following the basic online safety guidelines, and install a virus/malware scanner like Sophos Home on all your devices
All that said, keep an open mind to the advice of people here. They are not trying to discredit your experience. We’re here to help! Some of us at least :)
First of all these phone or pc hacks doesn’t spawn out of a void.
You would need to install apps or programs from untrusted sources to even have a chance of getting hacked.
It’s not like in the movies where you sit at your pc and type something in your cmd and after 10 minutes you hacked the Cia.
I mean he can comment on your posts. If you don’t want it don’t use it or block/report him.
And it’s not hard to find someone if you have their name.
Just change passwords and enable 2fa on your accounts.
But overall it’s sounds like a mental problem. So I would atleast see a psychiatrist.
i would get a cheapo pre-paid smart phone and use the data to reset ALL your passwords, with actually good and unique passwords, as well as force logout any other logins if possible. don’t connect it to your home wifi etc. then look up how to do a clean factory reset of your various devices, including your router. set your shit to private also.
it sounds like a mix of paranoia and technological ignorance. you might not need to go absolutely ham on all your devices but it sounds like you aren’t even sure where or how this started, so i would personally suggest that just to get it all over and done with so you can go back to normal.
You should change the passwords on everything, Google, Facebook, Email, your PC, Reddit, etc ASAP, then run the following tools on your PC:
-
Norton Power Eraser
-
Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool
-
ADW Cleaner
-
Malwarebytes
These are all free and will remove any malware left on your PC.
Then go into the settings for all of your accounts and remove any suspicious devices you don’t own.
And finally remove any extentions from your web browser you don’t recognise.
