Yeah cross talk shouldn’t happen cell phone to cell phone. It’s fiber from the Telco to the transmitter then encrypted from the transmitter to the phone. Even between providers it will be fiber. The only time it’s copper anymore is to the house and that is currently being phased out. Maximum is from the local switching until to the house. Maybe just maybe if you live in a very remote area from that switching unit to another is still copper but they almost certainly are going to be replacing it to put up a tower near by.
If the cell phone area was “tapped” using a stingray it would just record everything to PC so no way to cross connections. But if someone made their own they could cross the lines only on purpose.
