  • Go through her installed apps in the settings and delete anything that says “Home” in the name, like “messenger Home”.

Check what the default home app is. It should be the standard Galaxy phone home app, nothing else, ever. You have to switch back to the default OneUI or whatever it’s called these days before you can uninstall the fake one.

Delete any app that doesn’t come from like the top 10 tech companies you know. Delete all emoji and keyboard apps.

Google every app you don’t know yourself and see if it’s legit or not.

  • Since at least Windows 10, USB’s don’t autorun from the desktop. Maybe don’t stick it in during preboot if you wanna be super cautious. Just format it after plugging it in and you’re good.

Not unless your system is already infected with a simple background task that will autorun it. In the PC world we call it “Getting DP’d”. Look it up on Bing video search for more details.

  • You answered your own question. Your devices were auto connecting to your phone instead of your router. Turn your mobile hotspot off on your phone if it’s not being used. Make your other devices “forget” the action if they don’t need it. Even if I’m on my gigabit wifi, if I forget that my hotspot is on and dont set it to manual join, then they’ll tend to connect to my hotspot regardless of which connection is superior.

  • Is this happening before or after you hopefully reset your logins and force logged off all devices and made sure to remove and re-add all authenticator methods?

Note that there are now options to login to microsoft without a password and only use an authenticator notification, so if someone set it up then they wont need your password anymore, unless you go in and remove it all and redo it all.

Check all your device login history and save it. And also figure out who would have your and your wife’s info.
