i switched from pro tools to cubase.
i want to create empty clips to spot things that are happening in the video, like footsteps , open doors and etc.
in pro tools i can make empty clips “Option+Shift+3” with the command.
is there any similar thing in cubase?

Yes, you can use the drawing tool to draw empty clips directly on tracks. It looks like a pencil on your cursor options in transport bar. I think the hot key is «8».
Markers. Use markers (on marker track) for this.
Create a track, place the in and out markers where you want and double click.
