    How are you ddosed?

How do you think you are being ddosed?

Why won’t you just ban the IP on the computer that provides the service?

If it’s a botnet attack, the only way with home internet is to get a new IP. Otherwise, configure your router’s firewall to drop packets from the IP that’s attacking you.

Ddod is when there are multiple people attacking you to the point where your network cannot handle the incoming traffic. Just set a filter in your firewall to block traffic from that IP.

If you have a dinamic IP restart your router, if not ask your ISP to change it, if they don’t, just terminate your contract and do a new one, this will be more expensive to them.

Also if your ISP assigns static IPs the supplied router should have some decent security options in it to stop this sort of thing.

Usually residential addresses are given a dynamic IP address. Have you tried refreshing your IP by switching your router off and on again? Either way, you might as well have your router off anyway.

If that doesn’t work, then all you can do is get your ISP to change your IP address. If they do nothing, you can threaten to change providers.

The router doesnt control the IP, the modem does. For residential OP would need to power cycle his modem to have the potential to get a new IP, and even then its dependent on how long the dhcp lease is.

If you’re modem is in bridge mode you can typically just change the mac address of your router’s wan port. That’s what I do if I need a new ip for whatever reason.
