I assume it has some in-built analog-style driveable stuff as it doesn’t clip? So in a sense it doesn’t matter about whether any channels except the master channel go over 0db then?

Also does it matter that my metering is set to +3db digital and yet my projects are set to +6db volume max (which is the minimum value?)

Internally the signals operate at 32-bit float so anything over 0db won’t be clipped. When you export the Master however you’re likely to be in 16 or 24 bit format and the audio over 0db will be clipped from the audio and distort.

If I understand what you’re talking about correctly the number “+6” is the maximum amount of positive fader ‘travel’ above zero. So you can only increase the signal by 6dB using the fader. I believe the other number is +12, correct? So that’s all that that is. It really has nothing to do with metering.

Correct, it doesn’t matter if channels except the master channel clips. There will be no distortion.

The only thing it could affect are certain plugins, which could possibly clip if they are programmed that way.
