This is the way but I get the feeling OP is asking if he can simply bring a track from another project without opening the project and having to do the export.

Internally the signals operate at 32-bit float so anything over 0db won’t be clipped. When you export the Master however you’re likely to be in 16 or 24 bit format and the audio over 0db will be clipped from the audio and distort.
