You should check out the entec DMx usb pro. Don’t get the non pro as it doesn’t have a buffer so is pretty unstable. The easiest way is to send dmx or midi directly to the lighting desk unless you have a lighting app like the chamsys.
this is why i bought a bluetooth numberpad.
i honestly think you need to do a lot more reading before you buy anything. DMX is very different to midi as a specification. Do you know how to attribute the lighting fixtures and what lighting control software will you be interfacing with ?
There is a max external for the dmx usb pro so you could build something in there.
I find the easiest way is to program all my looks on the lighting desk and then have the entec fire either cue stacks or values to vary sub masters.
