  • Just try to enjoy it and don’t worry if it takes you time to learn how to use it. You won’t get it overnight - and that’s fine. A lot of us have been using this software for 10-15 years+. It’s like learning an instrument - even if you read about the techniques, it’s still going to take time and practice for them to really work for you.

Also, if you start to get frustrated with it or not feel like doing it, just stop and come back to it later. It’s supposed to be enjoyable, so don’t force it.

Even if you spend 30 mins and start to feel fed up, just leave it and come back the next day and do another 30 mins. You’ll get far more done in short bursts of productivity than in long sessions of feeling frustrated. Eventually you’ll start to find your flow with it and you’ll end up spending 4 hours without knowing where the time has gone - it’ll just feel easy and natural, as you won’t be thinking about how to use the software and can just be creative.

I’d also really recommend trying to learn an instrument. Having a basic understanding of which note shapes work together will really help you. It is music software after all. Just try and learn some basic songs to a metronome on your keyboard.

If you don’t want to go this route and are getting frustrated - there are AI “helpers” you can use, which suggest chord progressions and melodies. I’ve never used them personally, as I like the creativity - but it is a route you could go down.

You could also find some free samples websites and just arrange them in the sequencer.

Just play around, have fun making cool noises, and eventually you’ll start creating something you’ll like.
