Even if it was possible it wouldn’t of had anything to do with your home network… Worst they could do with tethering is downloading torrents or snoop on traffic to other devices that where also connected to the hotspot but not on the device itself.

Replace the screen if its important. Thats the only way especially if you have a lock code on it.
I don’t understand why. Aol is older, but Gmail has been around since 2004… Its not exactly new either. If an email is a concern then sounds like any other free service that just anyone could create would also be a concern.

Get whoever bought it to return it. Its now a paperweight nothing you can do other than get it returned.
Are you famous? Have a high ranking in something? if not then clearly its not “hacked”
Your concern would mostly be if its the same type of ram… and if the laptop in question even has upgradeable ram.
What’s your budget? Cause your looking at least $400-$500+ and even more with solar panels.
