Mine is more metering options (to get all the channel meters to be able to behave like VU meters with -18 dbfs as 0db).
And a project information text export.
(P.S.: I know you can futz with the meter appearance via preferences but it wold be nice if it could match the options of Logic)
Let me undock the Chord Pad, I can with the sampler, I can with the mixer, why not this? It would be so useful.
Sometimes I think they are so focussed on catering for a single screen / laptop experience that they forget people use 2, 3 or four monitors. I want to use the arrangement window full screen to fit the whole arrangement, but I’m stuck using this silly dock at the bottom.
Remind me - Cubase has never had any options for the channel meters at all in any prior version ever? And it’s always just been a relative digital FS type meter?
More synths or redesigns of prologue etc
Toggle automation lane by one key
Be able to export all the folders in one go.
And a better quality time stretch and pitch sampler.
Eliminate This f*ing dialog:
“Do you want to enlarge the part … (?) Checkbox: Don’t show again (Which of course still shows the dialog again next time you boot Cubase”
So useless.
The number of times I’ve yelled “NO! I DO NOT!” at my screen is unfathomable.
Hahaha yes!
I want a spectral peaks view for audio items and AOT (always on top) option for the mixer.
I would have liked to see a better/simpler way of layering synths; I am jealous of FL Studios layering (with the parent/children thing). Simple, quick, layer as many synths as you like.
Also, something like Ableton macros; where I can assign multiple parameters to one knob of a control surface.
Other than Cubase is just fine for me.
Add metadata to the mixdown
I think there is some info added with a “broadcast wave” format, tho not sure what.
Way better MIDI to instrument relationships. Using kontakt multisis a pain.
Lfo based modulation of vst parameters
Added? More like brought back and I would start with DX Plugins I lost so many features when you dropped that
Not a whole lot I feel like I’m missing in Cubase these days, but I would love to see improvements to the Sampler Track, e.g. being able to edit individual slices or make groups of them that can be edited, modulated, have effects, etc.
Would also love to have an equivalent to Studio One’s Scratch Pad.
There is a key command for every track version function in cubase. So the scratch pad could not be faster than this. I prefer to have my alternative ideas right in place so that I can switch between original and alternative version. With track versions you can handle an alternative chorus idea, just for the drum tracks or for all tracks if you use track version id‘s. So I still couldn’t imagine any advantage for the scratch pad.
Yes you can here you go
Thanks! That’s not in the Sampler Track though, right? Ideally what I’d like to do is be able to use the Sampler Track controls (ADSR, pitch, filter drive, etc.) on a per slice basis, and make groups of slices. Being able to assign them to different outputs would also be awesome.
I know some of this can be done by sending the slices to Groove Agent, but then you lose a few features of the Sampler Track and the workflow is different, so it’s not ideal.
So what is the advantage of the scratch pad against Cubase‘s track versions? The scratch pad is just a section at the end of a song, to test some ideas. You must copy the parts into place if you want to use them, right? With track version you can create as much new sections as you want right in place!
In my experience from using both, the Scratch Pad is just a lot easier to pull up in the middle of working, throw extra bits in there, and then recall them when you want to use them. On a functional level you can do this in Track Versions (and I do), but Scratch Pad is designed with speed and convenience in mind, and they really feel like two distinct features with different purposes when you use them.
Reorder rack instruments and group track routing.
Disable mouse wheel in the mixer preference setting.
View tempo meter and signature from the same ui interface
Tempo track scaling modifier (for conversion between 4/4 and 12/8 for instance.
Full screen mode, being able to turn a folder into a bus like modern daws, expression maps update
Folder to bus would be awesome
