Hello, I recently got two new monitors: ViewSonic Omni VX2418C 24 Inch 1080p 1ms 165Hz Curved Gaming Monitor.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to turn them off, and I’m getting extremely frustrated and feeling very dumb. :D

Does anyone have this monitor and can instruct me on how to turn this off? I promise I’m not stupid. I just installed a new SSD and upgraded RAM in my laptop, checked it, and then decided to turn off my new monitors, and can’t seem to figure it out.

If I press on the joy stick, it brings up input options. If I press up or down or left or right, none of them turn it off, It just goes to different settings. There is no button where the power icon is. And the power indicator is not a button, it’s simply a light. Help, please. Lol

In my LG monitors with “joystick” fonction un need to

    1-press center

2- read on screen, look for power off (up in one of my monitor and left in the other one)

3 - move the stick toward the value showing “power off”.

My stupid monitor story: Built a new computer for a friend, but it wasn’t working, couldn’t get anything to display… Tried re-seating components, went and got a little pc speaker to hear beep codes since the motherboard didn’t have one built in, just to confirm if it was even posting… Etc…

Turns out the monitor was just off. It’s not my fault though! This fucking monitor has a blue light on the front only when it is OFF, and NO light when it is on! I had no idea the thing was off… It might have even been this same monitor, that stupid joystick looks familiar, but it was a few years back, so im not sure lol.

Hahaha nothing like a simple thing to make you feel dumb after doing something slightly difficult. I’ve never installed components inside a laptop, and I was pretty proud after installing the secondary SSD and upgrading the RAM. And then I was humbled quickly when I went to turn everything off.
