I’m reaching out because I’m in desperate need of assistance with a persistent issue I’ve been facing regarding my video card overheating. Here are the specs of my system:

Processor: Intel Core i7-9700KF

Motherboard: MSI H310M PRO-VDH PLUS (MS-7C09)

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

PSU: 1000 Watt

The problem arises every time I engage in a heavy task, particularly when playing demanding games like Red Dead Redemption 2. What happens is that my screens suddenly turn off, leaving only the sound intact, and I’m unable to do anything. I’ve tried several solutions, including adding extra fans and upgrading my PSU to 1000 watts, but unfortunately, none of these measures seem to be resolving the issue.

I’m turning to the expertise of this community in the hope that someone might have encountered a similar problem or has insights into what might be causing this overheating and screen blackout. If you’ve got any suggestions, fixes, or diagnostics I can run to pinpoint the issue, I would be incredibly grateful.

Here are a few additional details that might be helpful:

I’ve monitored my temperatures, and indeed, the GPU seems to be running hot, especially during graphics-intensive tasks.

I’ve ensured that my drivers are up to date, including the latest NVIDIA drivers.

The issue persists even after adding extra fans and upgrading the PSU.

Any guidance or assistance you can provide would be immensely appreciated. I’m eager to get back to gaming without the fear of my system shutting down unexpectedly.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Sounds like the case it’s in might not be getting proper airflow and is causing the overheating. Have you ran temp tests on it? Your fans should be running at 65c-70c.
