I have a Zenbook Flip UP5302ZA that i bought 3 weeks ago. It’s not exactly a cheap laptop and has 16GB of ram. Sometimes i find myself in situation, where i only have 1 chrome tab open, watching a YouTube video and my laptop starts lagging. Out of curiosity i see memory spiking to anywhere between 60% and sometimes even 99% RAM. Yea i do have skype, Teamviewer and maybe adobe cloud open in the background. But when i add up the memory consumption of all processes, its no more than 2 GB, so why does windows show 62% usage? Where is the rest of my memory, when it doesnt show up in the task manager? Is windows itself using 10-14 GB???

task manager has never been completely accurate in showing you what exactly is using what in terms of RAM usage I’d say check resource monitor aswell
