For Christmas, I ordered my son a Horizon 2 Pro from Starforge. It’s got an Intel Core i5-12400F and a rtx 4060 Ti. I’m wondering whether I should get him a 1080p or 1440p monitor? I myself use a 4080 on 1440p but I’m really not sure if a 4060 Ti can handle it. What do you guys think? This might be a dumb question but thought I’d chance it and ask Reddit, as I am very new to PC gaming. Thank you!

There’s a lot of absurdity in here trying to say a 4060 isn’t 1440p ready.

What the fuck are they smoking? For that I have no answer.

But what I can tell you is I’ve ran 1440p on high-to ultra at 50-100 or more FPS (with your same processor) on Fortnite, WoW, and Jedi: FO, among others, all on a very used and dated 1070 TI for years now, and have a 4060 on the way that is benchmarked at 53% more powerful than my dated card.

These people saying 4060 can’t do 1440p either mean to express some inaccurate nuanced take that it’s not the best 4K card- or they are factually full of absolute horse shit.

But your kid a 1440 monitor.
