For Christmas, I ordered my son a Horizon 2 Pro from Starforge. It’s got an Intel Core i5-12400F and a rtx 4060 Ti. I’m wondering whether I should get him a 1080p or 1440p monitor? I myself use a 4080 on 1440p but I’m really not sure if a 4060 Ti can handle it. What do you guys think? This might be a dumb question but thought I’d chance it and ask Reddit, as I am very new to PC gaming. Thank you!
Ok, thanks guys. Good points. I was originally thinking 1080p probably but I think I’ll have him try a 1440p first. Thanks again!
Watch this and youll likely choose 1080p:

yep a bunch of downvotes but no one refutes the facts.
If i were to buy a monitor i would definitely go for 1440p. The added detail is very nice, and you can turn it to 1080p if its performing bad in certain games.
curved 1440p at the 27ish inch size is what most of my gamer friends are settling for. myself, ive got bad eyes, so im staying at 1080p and 37inch. after a day at work reading screens, coming home to an easy to read monitor is a blessing.
I would recommend 1440p as well myself. I picked up a 1440p 27inch myself and it’s the nicest monitor I’ve owned up to this point. It feels awesome
