I shouldn’t go buy stuff on Black Friday sales. But I did. I bought Steinberg Absolute 6, the instrument collection including Halion 7, Groove Agent 5, etc.
After three days, it had:
- Broken my cubase 11 media bay
- Broken my cubase 12 media bay
- Broken my halion 6 install
- Made 90% of my existing cubase projects fail to open
- Showed me 0 loadable presets in halion 7, after three tries reinstalling it.
- Screwed up my ability to start cubase without errors.
So I just rage quit Cubase and all steinberg products. Deleted them all. I have 400 gigabytes more space on my hard drive, and a huge hate for Steinberg.
Whatever they did to me, if I can convince anybody else NOT TO UPGRADE TO HALION 7, just don’t.
I upgraded from Halion 6 to 7, and went through the licensing system update, but H7 did not work. Steinberg support took about a day to fix something on their end, and then it was working. H7 is s nice upgrade. Even if you did all the steps to update the licensing system and transfer from the dongle, you may still need to contact support if there is a glitch over on their end. They did it in about a day for me. Hope it works out for you
