I use Cubase 12 Pro every day for professional use.
I never experienced any crash on windows 10.
Is this the case for you on Cubase 13 ?
Cheers

So far so good. I got the update on day one and have been editing and mixing several large projects… no problems! Windows 10 on intel.

The “Cubase hangs when I exit” bug is… better. It’s always just been an annoyance, but now it’s… better. Not gonna say fixed lol, the new exit workflow involving Hub is a little clumsy, but… better.

Some of the projects I created with 12 crash in 13 but will work when I reinstall 12.

It was not in love with the Reason VST either. Hope they send some patches soon.

I can add Reason to a 13 project. Seems OK but ones that had Reason from prior to 13 crash and don’t let you delete the Reason vst or Reason effect

Yeah the thing is, I would stay on 12 for current projects, But work on 13 for new ones :)
      Thank you

Installed and used it the day it was out and had approx 25% more crashes than with 12. I’d give it another update round and then it should run more stable.

That said, I still use 13 despite all of its minor issues and am not looking back 🤙

    Worthy upgrade.

Not even close. Not yet anyway. I’ve had multiple crashes with 13 unfortunately. But I suspect they’ll resolve issues in a few months give or take.

Yeah that’s usually how it goes for any software company nowadays. Customers are beta testers :D

No, Cubase 13 is very unstable. I had countless crashes with generated crash dumps. It doesn’t look much better in the Cubase forum. Cubase 13 is currently still very buggy and not recommended for productive use.

      Thank you for you awnser.
After collecting a lot of stories, the few workflow improvement might not be worth it for me.
If a crash makes me lose 10 minutes from here to there, it can quickly add up :)

For me C13 is more stable than C12 - especially the hang up when closing.

The only issue I have experienced is when I start C13 my interface loses sync. The workaround is to select a different sample rate and then it’ll sync again.

I quite like the changes to the mix window.

I would say Cubase 12 is anything but stable. I’ve been using Cubase since before it was even called Cubase. I had virtually no problems at all until I upgraded to 12 when it came out. Even after applying all of the updates I constantly get crashes and it virtually always hangs on exit and I have to force quit. I have never once been able to get through a single session in Cubase 12 without some sort of issue. I’m angry that I paid for an upgrade that doesn’t work. Ended up going back to 11. I’ve considered switching DAWs altogether because of the instability of 12 and the fact that I’ve lost months of production time. (Kinda hard to feel creative when you’re constantly having to figure out what the issue is.) In my opinion, 12 was when they eliminated the dongle and suddenly the forums were filled with issues. If it were my product I would try reinstating the dongle on a focus group and see what happens. Can’t hurt to test. Also can’t hurt for them to pay more attention to the forums and take note of the issues people are actually having. They could also use more people in the forums trying to solve customer issues instead of having one guy who gets to pick and choose who he will help.

Yup it’s really wierd, I had zero crashes since day one on Cubase 12 and for me it felt like the best update yet.
Maybe the difference is in the harware variations anybody uses.
Thank you very much for your detailled awnser :)
