This drive failed me circa 2013, and I’ve kept it to remind me of the importance of data management.

It had a wedding on it.

I want to know if anyone has any insight on how to power the disk without attaching that separate attachment (pictured)

I wanted to try plugging the SATA cable straight into the computer, but the drive is powered through the power cable attached to the external piece.

I’m also a complete novice, so excuse my ignorance.

Device (WD 3TB HDD, Nasware 2.0, WD30EFRX)

Usb 3 HDD enclosure. Piece of cake.

Or even a HDD dock if it’s something you might need in the future.
