I’ve had my drawing tablet for a long while now and I had the one pen with it the whole time. But recently I moved and lost the pen so I needed to buy a replacement. I specifically sought out a pen that would work with my tablet but now that it’s here it won’t connect. Every help tutorial I’ve watched skips over the connecting of the pen and just focuses on the tablet. The tablet is already connected, everything in that regard is perfectly fine. But I just can’t get the pen to work with it. Do I need to charge it? I never needed to charge my old pen so I assumed it didn’t run on power. The pen came with no instructions so I’m left on my own for this. The model of the tablet is Intuos CTL-490 with the white frame and two slanted black buttons The pen I bought is Intuos LP1100K 4k Pen Are these two even compatible? Should I buy a different model of pen? Should I cut my losses and buy a new tablet and pen altogether?

The LP1100k 4k is specifically not compatible with the CTL-490.

    https://estore.wacom.com/en-se/wacom-pen-4k-lp1100k.html
    Not compatible with older Intuos CTL-480, CTH-480, CTH-680, CTL-490, CTH-490, CTH-690 models, Intuos 3, 4, 5, Intuos Pro tablets or Cintiq products.

As previously mentioned, the 2k lp190k is the one you are after. Or, if you want to be sure, you can always ask Wacom’s support directly.
