Hi guys,
I’ve been looking to get Cubase 13 through Splice through their rent-to-own subscription for 36 months. However, Cubase Splice owners won’t get the discounted update when Steinberg releases Cubase 14 since it’s only for customers who purchase it directly from the Steinberg Online Store.
Does it make sense to get the splice version for now until a good discount appears for the Cubase 13 on the Steinberg online store and then cancel the splice?
Thanks
I don’t think that’s a great idea.
I think the idea is to go down the splice route until you can afford to pay it off.
Then you get the full license and update etc
Get artist, a cross grade, or a student discount version then upgrade when they have a big sale .
That’s why I always buy new versions directly from Steinberg. Also saves some agita on the install/prelim set-up.
But I am also not an early adapter - still running Cubase 11, got it going seamlessly and I see no reason to change up just to keep up.
And their .5 update/upgrade scheme is heinous. $50 more for bug fixes?
Hey guys, thanks for the help.
I think the best option for me right now will be to wait for the sale. Not sure if I can afford the price at this point.
