I got these speakers with 2 plugs and I’m not sure if I’m plugging it in right or if my speakers might just be bugged. When I put one plug into a USB port and another into “Line out” and I can’t hear any sound from my speakers. Is there somewhere else I should be plugging it in?
If the speakers have any lights, are they turning on?
Do they show up in your devices/options in sound settings?
Is there an audio out on your monitors?
What you’re doing doesn’t look wrong, but speaker brands can all be a little different.
Do the speakers have their own power supply?
I’m guessing the usb might be for power and the 3.5mm jack audio.
As others have said, minijack into the headphones socket. You may have two - one at the front and one at the back.
Windows should see the speakers in the volume applet in the system tray. Make sure to select it to send the audio output to it.
The USB plug goes in to any suitable USB port.
The 3.5mm plug normally goes in to the headphones port.Line out is generally a specific port for balanced output (line level output), line level output is generally really weak and requires amplification. You want to use the speaker out/headphones out.
It’s a bit hard to tell from the image but you can see the five 3.5mm ports on the back there, it should be one of the ports with a speaker image next to it, so one of the upper two.You may also have to change audio device in windows.
