I want to buy a 8GB RAM for an old pc. How do i know which speed to request. All i have is this pic. Shop asking for the actual pic of RAM. Is it not possible to determine the bus speed from this pic? PIC
Don’t buy DDR3, just ask around your area if someone got some old sticks lying around. I did this recently and got more than I could need. Your RAM is lowest spec/not OCed so any other stick will be fine, you can even go with an 8g Stick or maybe get gifted a set. It rly doesn’t matter. For the Matter of fact I have 1 more stick lying around I’d give away but I’m def not from your area. But also watch out those sticks can be broken.i got 1 on the 4 pack I was gifted that was broken and one from the pc i was rebuilding was broken.

it s a 1333mhz cl9 ddr3… buy a ram bank with same spec and capacity to work in dual channel
With the price of ddr3, I’d just get two new sticks to ensure they match and chuck/give away your current ram.
You can check which ram , ssd is compatible with ur device on crucial’s website
The next tab over the SPD gives ram speed and what is in each slot including brand and a part number.
At top you will see a drop-down to choose each slot and what is in it.
Post those pics and I know I can help. You are running ram in a single slot right now. Single channel. So if you have 2 slots best thing to do is split the ram between both slots to get dual channel. Think of a hyway a single lanrle hiway to the cou vs a double lane. That is exactly it.
So you can either get another 4gb for 8 total or can get 2 8 for 16 total or if you have 4 slots get 3 4gb.
SPD will give you a model number that you can go on ebay and find matching ram to what you already have.
Post the MB tab too.
that ram is common not sure if there is a bnew as rams today are ddr4- ddr5 already
1300mHz DDR3 RAM sticks should be fine.
