I have Artist 8.5 on my main pc. However, for smaller/remote recording I want to use my laptop. 8.5 utilises a dongle. Is it just a case of installing the software and transferring the dongle each time…?
On another note: can I update to the latest version at a discounted price?

100%. The license is stored on the USB-eLicenser. As long as it’s connected to the computer, on which want to use the software, you are good to go.
Updates are always available for users with existing licenses. There is a cheaper update option from Cubase Artist 8.5 to Cubase Artist 13.
Since Cubase 13 moved to their new license system, the USB-eLicenser is no longer required. You can have the license active on up to three computers (without having to carry around the USB dongle).
