My girlfriend just updated her phone and wanted to see what the new call screen looked like so when I was with her I called her. When she answered she put her phone on speaker and all we heard were two people talking in a different language.

Anyone know why or how this happened? Hacked Apple account, or just a random coincidence? Thanks!

No they arent. Not unless you’re on a landline in a VERY old jurisdiction. Cell tower site switching is all done on either an erricsson BB6630 or newer ericcsson/Nokia equivalent. Switching is done automatically based on the site file uploaded to said device. Even 3g has been decommissioned in 90% of markets in the US, and where you can get it, it’s running legacy firmware on newer hardware, for lack of a better term. There aren’t even any “lines” to switch anymore. It’s all fiber optics to the radios.

“Or, there’s a modern equivalent bug that you’ve encountered”

The dude you replied to already covered that.
