I have a new Acer laptop with a bad webcam, but have already installed apps and spent many hours settings it up. With an exact same replacement in hand, I want to simply move the M.2 from the defective laptop to the replacement. Bitlocker is not enabled. The only issue I can think of is Windows activation. Is there anything else I’m missing? It’s an exactly-same model replacement.

For Windows activation, what do I need to do to resolve the issue?

Thanks.

I’ve not done this but what I expect is the new laptop will recognize and activate just fine. The bios of the new laptop should show Windows as activated and as long as the version, Home vs Pro, is the same on both laptops there shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t see it as any different from wiping and doing a clean install, which will work, that I’ve done.
