Sometimes, I would connect my laptop to a LG smart TV to play games on it. I’ve tried this quite a few times and there were no problems at all. But a few days ago, as I plugged the HDMI cable into my TV, the whole tv froze, and eventually turned into black screen. It couldn’t display anything at all even though it was turned on. I suspect this HDMI cable might be the problem that broke the entire tv. The cable is a bit faulty, as it could cause a bit of screen tear sometimes + has a bit of connection issue.
So, can a HDMI cable break the whole tv? Or perhaps causing a short circuit? We bought another tv again but I’m afraid the same thing might happen. I also bought a new HDMI cable, should I still continue to play on tv?
I don’t think an HDMI cable can brick a TV, as it only carries audio and video signals.
Did the TV stopped working at all after using the HDMI Cable? Were you not able to turn it on at all?
Yup it completely couldn’t be turned on. Even though the power indicator shows was on, the tv couldn’t display anything at all.
