Last night I accidentally left a cup of coke on my desk and my cat knocked it onto my pc. Not a lot of coke spilled, I had already drank most of it, it had a lid, and I got to it pretty fast. I immediately powered off and unplugged my computer but the case had screws on it so it took me a while to get in and dry it.

That happened at around 1:45am last night and it’s now 3:15pm. I’m scared to plug it back in because I don’t want to break it but I have stuff to do. Would it be fine to try plugging it in and powering it on?

If anymore info is needed just ask.

Update: I plugged it in and it turned on but the monitors are black and wont show anything. I can’t afford a new PC rn I don’t know what to do.

Sorry for your loss. Coke does that to people too, just takes longer.

If you can dismantle it and clean it out as others have said there’s a small chance of getting it restarted. BUT it’s only a SMALL chance. If this is beyond your skill level and you have a tech savvy friend, ask them if they can help. Sometimes stuff like this is just gunk in the connectors (memory, storage) that can be cleaned and reseated. Sometimes.

Does it even beep at you when you power it on? What kind of PC is it? Brand and model? Laptop I’m guessing…
