So this is how the story goes, I got a new laptop recently and I was installing all the necessities. This is a new laptop and I wanted to see how it would run Valorant.

After the installation, I had to restart my laptop as per the instructions but after that I lost all connection to my Internet

I tried uninstalling Vanguard and Valorant and eventually rebooted my entire laptop (since it’s new it doesn’t really bother me) but there isn’t any fix. The internet works just fine on my other devices and laptop but this particular laptop just isn’t connecting anymore. I’ve also tried the whole DNS flushing thing, but i’m not very well versed with these things.

Does anyone know how to fix this? It’s quite upsetting since it is a new laptop.

By "eventually rebooted my entire laptop, do you mean made a clean OS reinstall? If not, try that

Edit: I usually wouldn’t recommend this, but since you mentioned it’s a new laptop, it shouldn’t hurt too much.

I tried connecting to my campus wifi, and it worked just fine actually, so I think it’s just an issue isolated with my home wifi

On a separate note, I tried pinging google.com through cmd and it had no response, is this indicative of a completely different issue?

Don’t reload your OS before doing basic (and quicker) troubleshooting.
At least check your DNS settings to see if they are set manually for some reason, especially if they are different from what your other devices are getting from your router.
This article shows multiple ways to check (and change) your DNS. In most cases, you wouldn’t want static DNS entries, the laptop should grab whatever DNS servers your router suggests when it gets an IP. https://windowsreport.com/dns-windows-10/
