A few months back, sadly, on a sleep deprived state I spilled my water bottle all over my laptop, and that was the end of it. I opened it up back then to salvage parts like the SSD, HDD, and ram. Recently I formatted the HDD and now have a extra backup. Was just wondering if the ram would be something I could try to use to upgrade another laptop’s 8GB to 16GB, but fear it could short out the new laptop and I should have just bought a new kit instead.

it depends… water doesn’t damage parts, leaving water there or having it while it’s powered on will cause corrosion.

look at it physically, if there is residue around the chips or if the PCB is warped, don’t use it… otherwise install it and run memtest86+ to see if it has problems.
