So I have a Huawei Windows 11 Laptop, which I got for Christmas about 2 years ago. Today I got a notification from Fortnite ( don’t laugh ) that my driver is outdated and I thought I had to install a new one from AMD because my cpu is from AMD but my driver is actually NVIDIA. It ducked up my Sound, can’t hear nothing. We tried uninstalling. Didn’t work. We tried just changing the Audio system and did a problem check from Windows. Didn’t help. My dad tried fixing it , he updated the Laptop. I thought it was fine after , it looked fine . I didn’t touch nothing. My dad did some more stuff. Now it apparently it’s for the fucking trash, it’s cooked whatever you call it. Someone please Help me here. What should I do???
At my repair/used electronics/retro company i get free stuff due to this sometimes
Customer: “you recycle electronics right?”
Me: “yes kinda depends” please dont be a giant Projection tv oh god please dont let it be one
Customer: 'i have this alienware junk and a monitor" interest piqued and slightly worried
Me: “you dont want to repair the pc we might be able to? And what type of monitor?” please please say yes
Customer: “no its total explective junk i just wanna recycle it and its a small flat one” damn no easy money but yay no giant TV
Me: “okay yeah sure ill take them thank you for ethically recycling” goes to put items in the recycle pile thinks to self wait i havent checked to see if it is actually junk… wipe drive installs windows yay it works! New drive in old drive destroyed
Me: “yay nearly free junk! … in the lan corner it goes” reduce reuse and recycle
I have no idea what was wrong with the alienware im guessing it was a driver issue.
Usually the recycle people bring in a giant projection tv and i wanna cry. Yay being ethical. At least we get free crap once a month.
Where I work we gather stuff to send to recycling too and it’s impressive the amount of big CRT TVs people still bring to get recycled every month even if we’re in 2023. We have 2 pallets with them stacked currently and wating on the recycling company to come get them
