    With the laptop plugged in and the monitor plugged in try pressing the win+p and selecting duplicate or extend

    When you restart the laptop, does the monitor show any image when the laptop is booting?

    If not, try looking at BIOS if there is a setting for it. Port might be just bad, check the pins if they look good.

    Seen this happen with new computers. Try updating graphics drivers from Lenovo website.
