  • I need to assign the inputs IN 1 L and IN 1 R to the audio interface (UR22, Picture 2/3), similar to how it’s done in standalone mode

Maschine as a VST isn’t going to see any of your hardware. Enable the sidechain inputs if you want to route audio into maschine. Then route the audio from Cubase into those sidechain inputs.

I’ve never figured out how to get to inputs 1/2, but you get a total of 4 stereo inputs to play with.

    So your steps are:

    1. Enable the sidechain inputs
    • See the power button at the top of the VST window? It’s the 6th icon on that row of icons
    1. Create an audio track in Cubase with the input you want
    2. Enable track monitoring on that audio track so you can hear the live audio
    • You can also do this with recorded audio, vsts, etc.
    1. Route the output to maschine’s sidechain. Again, I’ve never gotten the first input to work (without using the maschine fx plugin); so use one of the others
    • You can probably use a send. I’m not in front of my system currently, but that’s generally how Cubase works.
