Kia ora koutou. I’m having an issue with my ram that I can’t figure out. I have two sticks of 16gb ram for a total of 32gb. Until recently this had been working perfectly. I’d had some unrelated stability issues so I decided to update my bios. This seemed to work fine, but I noticed it was telling me my memory size was 20gb instead of 32gb.

I’ve tried reseating the ram, going back to the previous bios, and changing to a new motherboard - none of which has worked. Each module will show up as 16gb when used individually, regardless of what slot I use (a2/b2), but will always show up as 20gb when used together (both in the bios & Windows). I’ve run memtest and it found no errors.

The only thing I can think of at this point is that there’s some issue with the cpu (memory controller?). I’ve had a quick look and didn’t see any bent pins, though.

If you have any ideas what could be going wrong or what I could try I’d be very grateful xoxo
