Is McAfee a virus

The headings and question are the same the reason I’m asking is Keep getting pop-ups from McAfee and it says I have 4 viruses but I did a scan myself with windows and it didn’t appear to be any and that’s why I come to you good people any info can help

Install a decent anti virus and check it, eset or bitdefender are decent ones, McAfee or windows defender are not
