Every day for work I type stuff into a spreadsheet. And every day I go to type in numbers, and because numlock is off by default, it interprets numbers as arrow keys, and it moves the spreadsheet away from where I was, then I have to manually move it back, turn on numlock, then resume typing stuff in. It’s a minor inconvenience, but starting my day with aggravation every day is something I’d like to avoid. Is there any easy way to make num lock be on permanently, or at least the default be num lock on when I start the system? I know I can probably manually use a script and create a macro somehow, but was looking for something simpler if possible, before I delve into that whole world again, where I’ve had minimal success in the past.
No easy way, but possible with regedit. I have it set as on by default, and the key is now disabled. So I cannot accidentally turn it off.
