Those of you who makes music with kontakt, whats your workflow look like?
I like to convert all the MIDI into audio to mix. But i can’t figure out how to easily achieve this.
Freezing doesnt allow you to edit, so that wont work
Currently, tried Render in place, If i have 4 midi input into kontakt (with 4 output channels) it creates 4x4 = 16 tracks with most of them empty.
If i use full signal path, I have to manually rename all the tracks.
Is there a work around anyone uses?
Thank you
I would route each of the instruments to their own output in Kontakt, then use the bounce function. On the left if you select multi, you can then select each output of Kontakt and bounce them each to separate audio files and import them through there.
I tried it a while ago and it was just too much fiddling with the mixer and setting it up via context menu’s. Since having KONTAKT loaded as a single instance for every instrument doesn’t make a significant difference, I’ve started using it that way years ago.
Once the project is finished, I do the mixing right inside the project - followed by mastering it some time later. I used to bounce out a master-out or even all of the single channels to do this seperately due to CPU load, but nowadays, this is not an issue anymore and doesn’t take much ressources. Exporting everything once everything is done is still a good thing to do as it helps you to prevent issues later when you want to go back to your project and / or do a remix.
Times change, sample players get updates, libraries get discontinued, so having a print out of all the channels is always a smart move 👍
