I’ve recently bought some new RAM, and whenever I try to turn DOCP on in BIOS I get BSOD.
Specs
Motherboard ASUS ROG X470-F CPU Ryzen 7 2700 GPU AMD RX590
Old RAM 16GB Corsair vengeance DDR4 2.4mhz New RAM 32GB Corsair vengeance DDR4 3.6mhz (which without DOCP runs at 2666hz)
Your CPU is rated to handle 3000mhz so 3200mhz is the highest I’d push it even though the mobo supports up to 3600mhz. Run DOCP but lower ram clock speed till its stable.
DOCP is overclocking, it’s not guaranteed to work.
normal behavior, the zen+ memory controller is not very good and is limited to 3400-3600Mbps
you can apply the xmp profile and then manually lower the memory speed until it is stable, to check for stability run a memory test, use testmem5 and hci memtest.
https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/how-to-test-ramCheck the voltage on the stick I learnt this the hard way but some docp settings don’t apply the voltage
Your ram will say it on the sticker
