What is file system between the choices of NTFS and APFS is better for an external hard drive against data corruption/data loss?

Why not exFAT if you’re going to exchange data between Windows and macOS?
Thanks for the suggestion. I am already formatted the drive as exFAT. The drive needs to scanned and repaired frequently, thus, I was thinking to switch to NTFS for the file journaling. However, I will be using the harddrive mainly on macOS.
