Hello,
I’m having some issues with my cloned SSD’s drive size.
I originally have a 1TB mechanical HDD partitioned into 2 500GB drives. I recently bought a small 256 GB M.2 PCLe SSD to put my OS on it. I didn’t have a lot of data on the HDD, about 100GB or so (that’s why I only got a 256GB SSD).
My issue is, after cloning, and shrinking the new C drive, the space it says it has in Disk Utility is incorrect. It shows that I have 2 500 GB partitions. And no matter what I do, even with diskpart, I can’t delete these “phantom” partitions, or have windows recognize my new SSD as a single 256GB drive.
My question is simple, is there anyway I can have windows recognize my SSD as a single 256GB drive without having to do a complete wipe?
Thank you so much!
Use Macrium Reflect to clone.
it will correctly resize your partitions and optimise for ssd
