I am looking for information on how to set up Cubase to start playback via an external midi message. In this case a Roland SPD-SX.

So hitting a pad on the SPD tells cubase to “begin playback immediately from bar 30”.

Hitting another says “Begin playback from bar 128” and so on.

I’m not even sure if this is possible.

    Are the bars constant? Will it always be 30, 60 120 etc?

    If so you could use markers and midi input to jump to. Or are you looking to key in any bar and it jumps to her?

      Thanks for responding. I have been playing around all day and I think i have figured out how to have 1 command to move to next marker. And another command to start playback. Ideally i’d have both functions assigned to just one SPD pad. But hitting 2 is not too much difficulty.
