I recently purchased my domain name and am now trying to figure out how to get personalized email. For instance, info@domain.com. Is there a way to but that through Microsoft? How? I’ve Googled it to death, but need someone to explain it to me like I’m 6 years old. My web host offers it, but through Google and I would prefer Microsoft or other alternatives. Thank you!

Should be able to still use Outlook if you know the SMTP and IMAP servers and the username and password.

Who is your registrar? Who is your web host?

If you want MS then you can easily do it but you need to connect the domain to ‎Microsoft 365‎, Business, and not a personal account.

It is entirely different from a personal account, particularly management etc.

    Question:

What is your objection with Google? Define "secure email with my domain.

My use of the word secure here just meant to obtain our purchase. It wasn’t intended to be anything security related. Sorry if that was confusing. I’m looking into the business account now. I just prefer MS over Google.

My personal domain is hosted at pair.com. Been with them for 20 years. They run their own mail servers. Many service level options, I have one of the cheapest.

You actually can have a personalised domain with a personal 365 account, but it needs to be purchased through godaddy.com (the domain).

There’s also a way to get 6 months of free 365 business licenses, through signing up to different subs (basic, standard and premium) and then extending each trial through the 365 admin Centre.

I used to be a business 365 support technician.
