So here’s the specifics. I live in the Philippines, and for a student just boarding in this city, i live in this boarding house with no internet so I decided to connect to a neighbor’s internet by paying them 400 pesos per month. Additionally, i load my sim for 99 pesos per month as well (it’s a promo) that gives 7gb of internet that i only use when I’m away from the house like if I’m at school or something. So basically that’s 499 pesos that i spend per month for internet and cellular data.
Additionally, my sim also offers a 499 pesos promo that can last for 30 days. It includes 55gb of internet, unli call and texts.
I use three devices. A laptop, a tablet and a phone. I rarely use all three at once since i mostly use my phone for browsing and everything else, the tablet for small online games, and the laptop for writing papers since my major in college requires a lot of papers. It’s not online classes too so i only use it a lot when I’m at home in the evening or something. Is 55gb enough for me? I’m considering this because lately the neighbors wifi is gone and I don’t want to impose on them too much by constantly asking if it’s back.
additional info, I’ll be using tethering when using the tablet and laptop since the data connection will come from my phone
And even though I’m not home most of the time, i sleep late and kind of just online for majority of my free time if I’m procrastinating (which happens often) so i use a lot of internet (?) I’m not how alot since i mostly just browse tiktok, reddit, or google chrome when I’m reading manga
Uh, my data usage is 1TB over the last 30 days!
It’ll be fine if your not into gaming or anything like that. Youtube can also take up TONs of bandwith.
When you do have to install something like 100 gigs, just connect to someone else’s wifi. Idk if filipino cell providers have this, but my cell provider (i also come from southeast asia) has a temporary unlimited plan. If you have that, use that for long term downloads. I used to do that when I had long internet outages and needed to get something big. Of course speed is an issue, but in the end it’d be cheaper.
