My mom bought a M2 MacBook Air a few months ago and spilled kombucha on the computer while it was closed, it sat in a bag unnoticed for days and not has severe corrosion on the keys, aluminum body and display. In addition the keyboard light is dim and the O, 9, and F9 keys fully don’t work. She ended up purchasing a iMac and gave me this computer to have. I currently use a 2018 Intel MacBook Air, and want to upgrade to this device. My question basically is, do you think it would make more sense to

try to repair the broken keys and use it with the damaged display and body,

go through with a full repair of all damaged parts,

Or use this device as a desktop and buy a display and keyboard.

Thanks!

if the device is only a few months old, I’d personally check and see if you can still get AppleCare+ for it, and then pay whatever the deductible is and get it fixed. if that’s not an option it might not be worth paying whatever the full price is to have it repaired, in which case I’d suggest looking into getting a display and keyboard to use it as a ‘desktop’, as it’s a really capable machine
