My house got fios, but the router has to remain way in the basement.

Mobile phones and laptops can connect to the new router just fine. Desktops can’t

My desktop is my room is upstairs.

Apparently the router doesn’t support IPv6, which to my understanding, is what my desktop is loooking for.

I’ve tried:

• resetting pc
• resetting network settings
• forgetting network
• im pretty sure everything I can try from in front of my desktop I’ve tried already.

It’s my parents routers , for some reason they can’t log into the router to change the router settings like turning off IPv6 or SON.

So I’m at my wit’s end , anything I can get ?

I don’t think a 60 ft Ethernet cable would really work out. Unfortunately I don’t have any Ethernet ports in my room either.
